The Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) is the first Tribal hospital in the country to employ a Certified Child Life Specialist. Child Life Specialists are specially trained to work with pediatric patients facing adverse experiences and help these children and their families develop positive coping skills that enable them to understand and overcome these experiences. Child Life Program staff members connect with healthcare providers, pediatric patients, and their family members in rural communities through trainings and direct outreach.

Donations to this fund help support the purchase of specialized toys, and other tools used by staff to support our youngest patients.
